“When you take on incarnation in this realm you come into your body and the illusion of time.” Healing takes place out of time.

   Micciah: Hmm. Malia, time. Another illusion. One of the most vivid illusions of this dimension. When you take on incarnation in this realm you come into the home, [patting her knees] the body. And you come into the illusion of time. Different cultures perceive time differently; just remember that as we talk. Western culture has the most (with the exception of the physicists who are at the cutting edge) linear sense of time. We believe that in some of the Native American languages there is no way to verbally express past and future. It’s all in the now. If you have ever been… If you have ever lived in a culture where time was perceived differently then you have access to those experiences.
   Time is very fluid. It slides around. Sometimes it stretches. Sometimes it contracts in your experience. In group experiences. Larry Dossey, a physician who has written so much about healing and about time calls it non-local time. That’s the time outside of the ordinary frame of reference.
   Healing takes place… Think of a healing. You cut your finger. We are not suggesting you are going to cut you finger; you cut your finger. It appears to heal in time, yes? But then, some of you perhaps, we know that this on has and we a talked about it in class, use the Hawaiian spiritual technique of saying, if you cut your finger, “A moment before, a moment before, a moment before, a moment before, a moment before… And the finger’s healed. The great spiritual teacher, who is no longer on this plane, Jack Schwarz used to demonstrate healing by putting a knitting needle through his arm; taking it out, and just healing, whole. And he said he got bored with demonstrating it, so, he stopped.
   But, things that you think that seem to happen in time, as you are taught about time, may happen in many different ways outside of your ordinary experience of time. Non-local time. When you work with healing energies you can work with someone who is in Bali. It doesn’t matter where they are. Well this is twelve hours, or whatever it is, different from here. In consciousness there isn’t any time in that sense.
   So, Malia, you said it seems to be both squeezing tighter, yes. And certainly, as demonstrated in Western culture, perhaps most of all America and other places as well where people work insane numbers of hours. Everything is hurry, hurry… hurry, hurry. What the Native Americans call hurry sickness. Hurry, hurry… hurry, hurry. We’re running out of time. What does that mean? [laughs] Where are you going to run to? For those of you who practice meditation and altered states (that’s another subject we want to talk about) eternity exists in every moment, or what we call moments. We are trapped here in time language. Your language is based on time. So, yes. It is happening simultaneously. A greater awareness of non-local time and the way events occur outside of the normal time frame, quote “normal.” And the sense of hurrying which is a great stressor on the nervous system. Feeling pressure, hurrying, hurrying.
