MICCIAH CHANNEL: JULIE WINTER
Produced by Jon Child
Transcript of Program 143, 1990
Some of Julie’s early work in channel from 1990 where Micciah discusses:
• The future, especially of New York City: “Still malleable.” Other-than-human forces hold us safely. Our action is needed: the situation “is, literally, you.” The water supply is in danger. Earth-changes will continue; the city will survive. View Section
• Spiritual aspect of current political changes: The intense yearning of all creatures draws in healing energy. In America the yearning has not yet peaked, but change is coming. View Section
• State of New York City: it is both dying and being reborn. Its physical innards are crumbling, but its fate is not fixed. Surrender to Spirit’s guidance expands the range of probabilities for healing the city and/or choosing somewhere else to live. View Section
Micciah: We greet you all, dear friends.
Julie: My Name is Julie Winter, and this program is called Micciah Channel.
And what you are going to see is me, going into an altered state of consciousness, a non‑ordinary state of awareness. And what I believe happens when I am in that state is that I enter an expanded geography of the self, and that there is an overlap between what I know (my intelligence, my awareness, my experience) and something that is larger than my ordinary awareness. It may indeed be that it is all part of my awareness and that would be fine. What’s produced is a personality that is a product of this overlapping and the personality is called Micciah.
My voice is going to change and it is my own voice. The variations in speech have to do with my being in an altered state.
The program is created from my classes. My students bring questions in.
The program that you are about to see is made up of a number of different class sessions.
Micciah: We greet you all, dear friends. And we are most pleased to be among you.
[Whisper.] So. [Aloud.] Please — what are your questions?
Sheila: Ah — I would like to (should I ask the question?) — I’d like to ask a question about the future of this planet in the next decade, especially this locale of New York City.
Micciah: [Whisper.] Yes. [Aloud.] The future. Well, we are speaking about the nonlocal present and how the future is not exactly what it seems.
The future is not carved anywhere yet, completely. Even though it has already happened, it is still malleable. (And this brings up the complex question of prediction: what it means to predict concrete events, and what effect those kinds of predictions have on the outcome — how they become part of an expectation, part of what Sheldrake calls the “morphogenetic field.”)
So. [Pause.] You are in the midst of tremendous… exploding and imploding healing, and the possibility, as Jean Houston says, of seeds of love being cooked in the cauldron of this upheaval. The most important thing we can convey to you is to keep connected with your faith, with each other, with others, with unseen others, so that you are not swept willy-nilly into the maelstrom, into a kind of whirlpool of despair and wretchedness.
There are forces — other-than-human forces — that participate in the destiny of this planet. There are, as we have said before, a ring of guardians, composed of some of the human race, some of the animal species (the dolphins), representatives of different animal families, beings not incarnate on this planet: there is a ring of protection and guidance.
And there are forces even beyond that that hold you safely in the midst of chaos. You are already in the midst of chaos. You are already experiencing an upsurge in changes in the body of the earth. You are already experiencing the effects of the toxicity that you have poured into the waters and into the air; and at the same time there is a tidal wave of consciousness, of awakened consciousness, breaking through — breaking through, cracking the code of greed, of fear (which is what greed is).
The earth-changes will continue. This city — New York City — is, as we have said before, like a volcano. And those of you who live in this city are like those who live in towns and villages where there is an active volcano rumbling and spitting, and yet they do not move.
It is urgent that you participate, in every way that you can — your meditation, your prayer, your actions — to care for the earth and her creatures, the water, the air, the homeless people: all of this. It is you! It doesn’t represent a shadow — it is, literally, you. It doesn’t matter if you have a home: you are the homed and you are also the homeless, in the totality of consciousness. And the virulence and the potent healing embedded in the situation, which exist side by side, demand your attention now.
You are in danger in this city (we will say it bluntly) in terms of your water supply. So whatever can be done needs to be done to conserve water and to mend the water arteries, the pipes, under the ground, which you know have burst and burst recently, blown out (if you want a practical place to put your attention and your political pressure). And the city is endangered by the violent rupture between those who have what they need and those who do not. So we ask you to pay attention to the homeless.
Will the actual city survive? [Pause, nods.] Not unchanged. But yes. And that is as close as we will come to a prediction.
The place to work — the place to put your attention — is first, consciousness; and out of that, action. Whatever action you can take, take.
Please go on.
Sheldon: Micciah, you’ve already begun to answer part of my question when you talked about the unseen forces. There seems to be an extraordinary amount of — at least on the surface — political change in various areas of the world —
Micciah: [Whisper.] Yes!
Sheldon: — and I’m curious to know if there is more going on there than meets the eye, in terms of involvement of Spirit. And also —
Micciah: [Whisper.] Yes.
Sheldon: — why is this country least touched by such political change, or the desire for such change?
Micciah: [Whisper.] Yes. [Aloud.] Well, it is becoming more, but there are — um — sprouts in this country that we think are going to grow.
There is, in the heart of humankind and in the hearts of all the creatures — in the heart of the grasses and of the rocks and of the water — such intense yearning, immense, intense yearning for Spirit, for peace, for healing, for literally a breakthrough out of greed and the stranglehold of fear, that the yearning has grown into a crescendo.
Some people know they are yearning. Some people are not consciously aware of it, but the yearning is expressed in their dreamtime, and becomes part of the greater beseeching. And in response to that, tremendous energies are being poured into this planet in order to … have the alchemy, the rebirth, happen. Your cooperation is needed. It cannot simply be done for you. Your cooperation is needed.
The chemistry of that yearning reached a level that drew to itself, magnetized to itself, the power to change. And people are being spoken to, are being taught, in dreamtime and also in those split seconds [Snaps fingers several times] — microseconds — when your consciousness blinks on and off. (You really are in this reality in a kind of, um — blinking mode. When you are in the, ah — closed-eye part of the blink of consciousness you receive impressions and guidance that affects your physical life. Do you understand what we mean by this, that consciousness blinks on and off? Or blinks into this reality and then away from it into other realms?) So, all of this is participated in, creating transformation.
Why is it less in America? There is less yearning, for one. You are, as a country — have been for many years — apparently very comfortable, even though there has been horrendous poverty, disease, slavery (the abolition of slavery, but — slavery that continued the abuse of many people). Your, ah — [sigh, searching for words]. The desire for change has not reached a peak here yet, as you can see by the overt choices that have been made politically. But it’s coming. That’s another prediction.
It’s coming. And you can participate — all of you, and groups like you — through your meditations for peace, which are received everywhere, yes? What seems to be the local present, the everyday, concrete aspects of life, are truly — not even diaphanous! More transparent than that. And permeable! Consciousness is permeable. So when you send out signals — signals of prayer, of peace, and your yearning for it and belief in it, as well as taking physical action toward it, you make an enormous difference.
* * *
Joanne: Micciah, we’ve talked about the state of the city before, and — it now being 1990 — is the city in fact dying, or is it being reborn maybe, at this time, if it … is it time to leave New York?
Micciah: Both.
Joanne: Okay. And if it is —
Micciah: It is dying and it is being reborn.
Joanne: Oh, that’s good. [Laughs.] If it is time to leave the city, where would be a better place, perhaps, to go?
Micciah: It depends on what you mean by, “Is it time to leave?”
Joanne: Hmm.
Micciah: What is it that you mean by it?
Joanne: Well — is staying here destructive for people?
Micciah: It can be, yes —
Joanne: Is staying here destructive to raise a child, for instance? Or is it as good a time as it ever was?
Micciah: It is more like that. You see — this relates to what Sheldon asked. When you say, “Is it destructive?” if you mean is it possible that —
If your aim is to protect the ongoing physical life of either people or things, then a great deal of life is destructive, potentially. If your aim is to be as closely attuned with Spirit as you can be, then at one level — this is easy to misinterpret, but at one level it doesn’t really matter much whether your body lives to be 85 or 18. But in another way it matters tremendously. It is — it is infinitely important, infinitely precious.
If the main thrust of your asking, “Where shall I be?” is in response to your desire to be close to Spirit, then you will be in the receiving of where to be physically. You can be in the safest physiological environment in the world, and be miserable. Nor are we advocating that people stay in a dangerous place. But it is a very complex matter as to what creates danger. There are those who walk right through wars and come out unscathed (not emotionally, but physically), only to trip in the garden and, ah — fracture their hips.
You must be clearer about what you are asking. Is New York a safe environment to live? At the most concrete level, of course not. No, it is not safe! It is difficult, it is dirty, it is filled with the creation of crime. But you are asking another question when you say, are you safe? You are safe in your relationship to Spirit. You could find many calmer environments in which to live — yes? This is clear without asking — no one needs to channel to discover this!
Joanne: It’s not about physical safety so much, the question.
Micciah: What is your concern, then?
Susan: The actual city seems to be falling apart.
Micciah: The actual city is falling apart.
Susan: That — that’s the question — and —
Micciah: And as we said many years ago, you are going to have trouble with water. You are indeed having trouble with water; you will have yet more trouble with water. If you want to talk about it — no pun intended — in very concrete terms, you will have trouble with all of the facilities that serve the city. Look around! You are already having trouble — with gas, with electric, with water.
It is also not fixed anywhere. The city can mobilize itself to care for these things. It is possible, in the most concrete way, to care for the physical environment of the city — to apportion funds, for people to gather together and recycle, which is already being done. It is possible. We want to reiterate: it is not fixed. What is going to happen to the city, in terms of its physical well-being, is not fixed. It’s fluid. (Ha! Again, no pun intended.)
But yes — if we look at the body of the city the way we would look at a physical — the incarnation of a physical body, yes. Its innards are simply crumbling. Not only water — we hate to say this — but sewers are drastically overburdened. The electrical suppliers — many of the cables that supply electricity — and the phone wires are bundled together in very old structures that are fraying.
Does that answer your question?
Susan: To a great degree. But also — I was also interested in transportation, and the tunnels and the bridges, and how long they might stay up, considering how long it would take to plan and build other such structures, so that would the boroughs be able to still be in contact with Manhattan, and —
Micciah: We don’t know, Susan. In time we can see that the structures are seriously eroded, but how long they will last we truly don’t know.
Is there anything else about this?
Sheldon: It is possible, though, within what you’re describing, and that Spirit can be dealt with anywhere, that some of us, by the nature of who or what we are, should be other places — or is that not also — does that not also matter?
Micciah: [Deep sigh.] Again, it functions on several levels. In the grandest, in the largest sense, there are no mistakes, so you will be where you most — needed to be. At another level, there are flexible possibilities for people to move that they are not necessarily hearing or availing themselves of, because of what we mentioned in the very beginning, which is their rigidity or their inability to surrender to what would take them to another place. So — in the greatest sense, there is not going to be a mistake; but in another sense, as you increase your capacity to listen to guidance and to surrender to what is right for you personally — to surrender, to not to have to be here or have to move out of here — you expand the probabilities for — in terms of your own decision-making.
Julie: That’s the end of this particular segment... of this particular adventure. And this channeling is meant to be a spiritual, emotional, intellectual, heartful, mindful journey that I share with another realm, that I share with my classes and that we all share with you.
Please go over the material, evaluate it for yourself, and know what it is that you think about it.
